A Hero's Reward

It is both tradition and an unspoken but unalterable rule that princesses in distress must always reward their saviors.  Laodice was no different.  Granted, she had been hoping that her rescuer would be a bit more... chivalrous?  Kind?  At any rate, she hadn't expected him to come stomping up to her with a scowl seemingly chiseled onto his face.  A gruff, rather insincere inquiry as to whether she was hurt, and then he was immediately fiddling with her shackles without even waiting for a response!

Still, he was quite a hunk!  Broad-shouldered, muscled arms and chest, adorable shaggy hair, and the biggest and bushiest tail she'd ever laid eyes upon!  Deciding that maybe all her dour defender needed was a little push, Laodice managed to get his attention after several inconspicuous coughs and finally a loud "EXCUSE ME?"  When the adventurer finally looked down, she lunged forward and caught his lips in a very enthusiastic kiss.  To her immense satisfaction, his former expression of annoyance had been blasted clean off, replaced by wide-eyed shock and embarrassment.

And was that... a blush on his cheeks?  Maybe this rescue wouldn't be so bad after all!
